Heuristic Institution (He-In) is a philosophical counselling centre that, with the aid of Philosophy, created a method to help adults and children to overcome their existential crisis.

Using existing techniques and studying new ones in human science areas, He-In pursues a better self-knowledge and a better knowledge of other people and of subjects related to interpersonal relationships.

Who is the philosopher? He is a person who studies, searches and tests the general principles of things, and particularly the reality's basis, ways and  methods of knowledge, problems and values connected to human mind and to human actions in all their shapes and expressions.

Heuristic is an art and technique of philosophical and scientific research, it studies methods to achieve an aim. Institutions are the whole of the main notions of a subject. To plan heuristic's institutions means to work for finding the best way to reach the goal. Inside the Philosophy, mother of all sciences, there is the cultural and emotional heritage, useful to modern man for finding again himself. To find again oneself is understood in the meaning of find oneself after have gone astray.

Why has the 21st century man lost his way? Because of the confusion of symbols and meanings that he doesn't cope any longer to decode when he come in contact with his fellow creatures, because he lost the most part of his  naturalness. Ludwig Binswanger (1881-1966), psychiatrist and philosopher, inspired by phenomenology and creator of the Existential analysis, said that the human being is a “being in the world” and for this reason it has to be observed in relation with other people. Our logo (the writing “He In” inside a circle) expresses the condition of the human being (He) that is in the world (the slightly oval circle represents the earth).

The human being and his relationships are our main subject of research because inside them, in some point, can be found the distortions of the human communication. The analysis and the interpretation of these discordances give us the opportunity to find again our interior harmony that permits to recover our own authentic existence, free from prejudices, incomprehensions and confused ideas.

Our main tool of work, thought and developed by dr. Max Bonfanti, is the  T.F.A.R. (Trattamento Fenomenologico delle Aree Relazionali – Phenomenological Treatment of Relational Areas) and consists in investigating the main areas of relation between the individual person and other people. The investigation is of a phenomenological type. The phenomenological philosopher observes who is in front of him, emptying his own mind of everything that could influence and/or mislead his investigation.

By the exam of all the relation's areas (current and past) we can identify where the communication has been subjected to an interruption or to a decoding error.

In the Socrates sentence “know yourself” (Scito te ipsum) there is the arriving point of our research; at the Heuristic Institution you can acquire a method to reach the goal of know yourself.

Heuristic Institution is the place where we work to improve the relationship with ourselves and with other people.
